Cabela's Classic Results

The results are in for last weekend's event, the Cabela's Classic. Current world number two Mike Lee covered all four of his bulls for a combined score of 341.5. He put up scores on Freightliner, Pimp Daddy, Can Rock, and Holy Moly, and was one of only two men to cover their draws in the short go round Sunday night. The other man was 18 year old Brian Canter, who won that go round with an even 91.00 on Here's Your Sign. His second place overall finish has moved him up into the top ten in the world standings. A few other spectacular rides for the weekend included Matt Bohon with a 90.25 on Splat Kat from Danny Lemmons in the third go round. In round one, Jason Bennett put up a 91.00 on Cat Daddy for a go round win, while on the same night, Cody Whitney took on Palace Stations Deuces Wild for 88.25.

Injuries abounded at this event. Mike White suffered a broken back after coming off of the Mossy Oak Shoot Out bull (The Boogerman) following round two. Oregon cowboy Ross Coleman suffered his second concussion in three weeks and is now taking about four weeks off to fully recover. And Bowdy Peach received a strained groin and is now out of competition.

On a better note in the injury catagory, L.J. Jenkins, who suffered broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a bruised liver in Oklahoma City is now back on tour. L.J. covered Tequila Magic in round two and Honken Jose in round three but came off of Sauce in the short go and Shane in round one. It is good to see him back and doing well.

This weekend's event is the Oh Boy! Oberto Invitational in Tacoma, WA, March 18-19.
