Name the Calf is a 'contest' that my mom created for her newspaper column. So far four calves have earned their names this way. It is very useful for those of us, such as myself, who lack imaginations when it comes to making up new names for babies around here. Now I am holding another Name the Calf competition to find a name for Frieland Dixies Lakota's daughter. I will be accepting any and all names that begin with either 'L', 'D', or 'T'.
This new baby is the third daughter by a young sire, Merlot Kenyon-ET, I used last year from Select Sire Power. So far we have had three pregnancies and three heifers. Can't complain about that. Her eldest sister can be seen over at Northview Diary. She is Medina Daydream and the other is Sara Beth. Little Sara Beth was three weeks premature but sure doesn't act it. She is a tough little baby.

you know what i think...
How about Laredo?
And how do you like the new header designed by your very own personal web designer?
I love my new header. Looks really snappy. Thanks Mom
I used to live on a cow farm and got so stripped for names we started being ironic. Soon little "Jimmy Dean" and "Oscar Mayer" were getting into all sorts of trouble
OH that is a great one. We haven't had quite that much trouble with names, we can usually come up with something. Last year we had a heifer born on April 1st, she became 'Foolish', and she even looks like a clown, she has a funky brockled face like a Simmental despite being a Holstein. Thanks for stopping by.
