Everyone who has read my last couple of posts knows that Mandolin Rain, AKA Mandy, had her baby early Sunday morning. Originally we had been planning to name the new calf Margaritaville, pretty much from the time we knew Mandy was pregnant, if it was a heifer. But when she got here, it just didn't seem to fit her. It's a good name and all, and we will definitely use it at some point, but Margaritaville just wasn't right. Tonight Mom, Dad and I were standing beside the big pen where she is, talking about that night, and that my Grandma Peg, who passed away on July 4th of 2001, would be so proud of us kids and all the things we have done seen and accomplished over the last six years. And we got to discussing the similarities in the sky and the moon between the night she passed and this Sunday....
...When suddenly it hit me...
...Mom thought we should name her something after the moon...
...I wanted to name her for some real good song...
...And finally I came up with something...
..."Neon Moon", by Brooks and Dunn popped into my head. I was thrilled. Not only do I love the song, but it has got a heck of a nice ring to it. Her full name will be Maqua-Kil Blitz Neon Moon. I love it....and her for that matter.

Great name and a GREAT looking calf!!!!
Hey big brother. Thanks on both counts. She's a sweety, and HUGE. Course with as big as her momma is it really doesn't surprise me.
So how many are you taking to Altamont???
At present, probably four or five actually going, more likely just four. Why? You wanna show one? Hehehe
