This weekend's event has already kicked off, with round one of the first ever Dale Jr. Clash already in the books. Justin McBride topped the round with an even 90.0 on Evil Forces. This is certainly a good way to follow up his win last weekend in Sacramento. Matt Bohon finished in second, with a 89.0 on Jeopardy. Following them was a tie for third and forth between two time event winner JB Mauney, and our other winner from last weekend, the mighty one, Mike White. Mike took on Black Smoke, with Mauney facing off with Hillstreet. Both men posted scores of 88.75. Filling up the top five was current world standings leader, and 2004 World Champion rider Mike Lee. Lee put up a 87.25 on Lost In Paradise. One man who I think we are all going to have to keep a close eye on is Missouri cowboy Luke Snyder. Luke hasn't had a good season since he won Rookie of the Year and the World Finals event back in 2001. Apparently he is stepping up to the plate this year. Granted we are only in the very early stages of the season, but he is covering over 45% of his bulls, as compaired to last season, when he only managed to stay up a little less than 30% in all of his attempts. He rode again last night to finish tied for 6th aboard the bull Hot Licks. We are definitely going to have to watch to see if he can keep up the success he is currently enjoying for the rest of the season.
Tune in to NBC at 2:30 EST today to catch the first go round of action. Versus (VS) will show the second round tonight at 8:00 pm, again EST.
