The 2009 PBR season is off to a phenomenal start. Kansas cowboy Kasey Hayes took the top spot for the weekend. He covered all three of his bulls for a combined total of 264.75. Following him with a very close agregate score for second was one of my two favorite riders, Colorado man Kody Lostroh. Lostroh finished out last season fifth, after going into the world finals in second place. A late run by JB Mauney (9th place finish this weekend) during the finals and a few of the Brazilians pushed him down into fifth despite a strong showing there. Third was Valdiron De Olivera who along with the fourth place man, last years World Champion rider, Guilherme Marchi, also covered all three bulls. They're scores were 263.75 and 258.75 respectively. Rounding out the top five was a two way tie between Travis Briscoe, and my other favorite rider Cord McCoy. They each covered two bulls.
Next weekend the PBR is up in my neck of the woods...sort of. Madison Square Garden is going to be hosting the Built Ford Tough Invitational. Be sure to tune in and catch all the bone crushing action.
