I'm Sick

Both literally and figuratively.

Literally Dad brought home this awful cold and shared with everyone. So for three days I felt like poop on a shingle so to speak. Now, a week later, I feel a bit better but I am still coughing violently and can't stop sneezing.

Figuratively...well...I am SO SICK AND TIRED OF THE PBR'S GRUDGE MATCHES I COULD SCREAM!! Last week it was bull on bull. Bones from Teague and Big Tex from Berger. Big Tex won by the way.

Now it is cowboy versus cowboy...east versus west...young gun versus young gun.

And in my opinion hot headed immaturity versus level headed decent guy. IN other words it is JB Mauney versus Kody Lostroh. I will let you figure out which is which. And to make it even better. There are two bulls in it, Chicken on a Chain and I believe Vodoo Child. AND the fans will pick who gets on which bull. Lets make these guys jobs just a little more dangerous. A litle more challenging. And take just a little more away from what this sport was actually meant to be. Yes I know the guys had to agree etc. However go on over to the PBR's website and read the comments. Some fans are loving it. Others are sick and tired of it, and don't think it really adds anything to the sport, particularly for those at home watching.

Personally I fit into the later group. I used to enjoy things like the Mossy Oak Shoot Out. The bounty bulls. Those deals were fun to me. The PBR's entire website home page didn't get devoted to two riders or two bulls. It was the happenings of all the top riders in the sport. I used to enjoy getting on to read the top news stories every day. Now I get on, and see three of the top five are the grudge matches. And the other two are generally how Ty Murray is doing on Dancing with the Stars. There have lately been a few on Flint Rassmussens' heart attack. (There is a page for sending him well wishes). But frankly from my perspective, I hate DWTS. It is boring, then again I will freely admit I don't like dancing period. I don't think it deserves more than one side note story despite what a rodeo icon Murray is. Just my opinion.

They hardly ever even update the injury page any more. The last update is from the 9th of March. And half the time one has to search like mad to find what they want. I don't know about the rest of you, but I like to know how the riders who get injured are doing. Specially if/when I have a weekend like this last one, where I am so sick taking the energy to turn on the tv seems to require an act of Congress.

Ok my rant is done now. Sorry to all. But this has been bothering me for a few weeks. And I had to get it off my chest so to speak. I will put up a "real" post on this weekends draws later tomorrow. Hope everyone is getting some spring like weather! It was raining the last time I looked out the window. But shoot, it isn't SNOW!

I so agree with you about the matches. When they mentioned the "new" match this weekend, the husband and I just looked at each other. Why do they need to match? Isn't that what they do every weekend? It's just stupid in my opinion.

As far as DWTS, I watch it. I'm not a Ty fan cause I know how he can be. So I watch to see how bad he does. Is that bad? I told the husband I wished we still lived in Stephenville so when I ran into him at the bank or Wal-Mart, I could gig him about it. Yea, I'm bad.
